About the artist
Dee Dee Popper is an actor with a passion for Shakespeare and a knack for comedy. After living in New York City, Los Angeles and Washington D.C., she has returned to Brooklyn and made it her home.
Dee graduated from Sarah Lawrence College and got her MFA in Classical Acting from the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy at the George Washington University in D.C. Although she originally concentrated in dance and photography at Sarah Lawrence, she fell in love with Shakespeare while studying at the British American Drama Academy in London. Dee moved to LA where she found a wonderful community of fellow Shakespeare nerds. She was cast in several of her dream roles including Viola (Twelfth Night), Kate (The Taming of the Shrew), and Desdemona (Othello).
In her free time, she feeds her obsession for English history specifically the Wars of the Roses and the Tudor dynasty. You can find her attending TudorCon every September!
She still loves photography and dancing and believes that personal expression through art is the most powerful form of catharsis and connection.
